As part of its collaborative initiative with the Owari-cho shopping district under Project: AERU, Frontier Science and Social Co-creation Initiative hosted the “Owari-cho Anyato Festival.”
The collaborative initiative with the Owari-cho shopping district began in fiscal year 2023. Since then, students have taken the lead in addressing local challenges and promoting the district’s appeal through activities such as utilizing community spaces, creating shopping district maps, and planning and managing walking tours. The festival was first held in 2023, and this year marks its third edition.
In preparation for the festival, student project members worked closely with the shopping district, engaging in ongoing discussions about event planning and operations. They also took charge of promotional efforts, including flyer design and outreach through social media. On the day of the festival, August 23, ten students handled key roles such as emceeing and distributing fans, managing various aspects of the event.
Local residents, foreign tourists, and participants of all ages—from children to adults—joined in, making the festival a lively and bustling celebration.
