Kanazawa University Volunteer Support Station (hereafter referred to as "Bora-Sapo"), an extracurricular activity group, has been continuously engaging in various exchange activities with people affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake and the 2024 Heavy Rain Disaster in Oku-Noto.
On April 13 and 27, May 11 and 25, and June 8 and 29, students from Bora-Sapo hosted the “Yottekimasshi Exchange Gathering” in Uchinada Town. Through activities like boccia, fan-making, and nail art, they interacted with local residents. Additionally, the same events were held in Wajima City on April 19 and 26, May 17 and 24, and June 7 and 21.
On April 20, May 18, and June 22, students from Bora-Sapo co-hosted the “Ikumaika Exchange Gathering” with members of 11 groups formed by survivors and supporters of the Great East Japan Earthquake. They connected with participants through workshops such as bookmark-making.
On April 26 and June 28, students from Bora-Sapo joined students from Kanazawa Seiryo University in participating in the “Minna de Enjoy Nikoniko Camp,” organized by the Ishikawa Camping Association. They connected through fun activities like flowing somen noodles, baking Baumkuchen, and playing dodgeball.
On April 15, May 20, and June 17, Lecturer Harada from Institute of Human and Social Sciences of Faculty of Economics and Management, School of Human and Social Sciences, who serves as an advisor to Bora-Sapo, took part in the “Hoshizora Café” held in the Nakai area of Anamizu Town. There, he engaged with disaster-affected individuals through casual conversation and light exercise. Additionally, on April 25, June 20, and June 27, he participated in the “Atsumaran-ke~ Noto! Café,” a salon activity hosted by the Kanazawa City Council of Social Welfare for evacuees who relocated to Kanazawa. He connected with participants through conversations about Noto.
On April 12 and June 14, students from Bora-Sapo and Lecturer Harada participated in the children's cafeteria “Wa-Mosso Kodomo no Restaurant,” hosted by the Wajima City Council of Social Welfare. They connected with local children through shared meals.
Between April and June 2025, a total of 32 activities related to community revitalization and engagement with disaster-affected individuals were carried out, with approximately 180 students and faculty members participating.
