The Graduate School of Human and Socio-Environmental Studies, Kanazawa University, will conduct a seminar to support participants aiming to pass the Statistical Surveyor Examination (Statistics Certification). The seminar will provide guidance on fundamental concepts related to official statistics, methods for interpreting and utilizing statistical data, and key focus areas for the examination.

The Statistical Surveyor certification under the Statistics Certification program demonstrates an accurate understanding of the role of statistics, statistical laws and regulations, the mechanisms by which official statistics are produced, and methods for utilizing major official statistical data. This qualification is expected to enhance employment opportunities, particularly in workplaces that handle statistical data, such as private research institutions, where certified individuals may be given hiring preference.

Participation is open to a wide range of individuals, from students who are self-studying using the official textbook Practical Economic Statistics to members of the general public.

Those who pass the Statistical Surveyor Examination (Statistics Certification) will be eligible to apply for the entrance examination of the Data Privacy Expert Training Program, which will be launched by this graduate school in the 2026 academic year.

A Data Privacy Expert is a data scientist who is well-versed in the proper handling of personal information and related data. Obtaining this qualification enables individuals to plan and conduct statistical and social surveys, as well as compile and analyze the results. This expertise can be applied across a wide range of industries, including companies and government agencies that analyze personal data and other sensitive information.
